Description of the school

Elementary school of Josip Kozarac has been independent since 1st of February 1998. Founder of the school is the county of Virovitica and Podravina, which is, along with the town of Slatina, school’s partner in achieving scheduled plans and goals.

The school compiles of the main school and four regional schools in villages near Slatina (Sladojevci, DonjiMeljani, Novi Senkovac and Kozice). In the main school there are eight grades and four grades in regional schools. In the school year of 2016. /2017. there are 570 pupils attending our school in 32 classes out of which 485 pupils attend the main school and 86 pupils attends the regional schools.

The school employs 68 people, headmaster, 18 class teachers, 30 subject teachers, 3 professional associates and 17 other staff members.

The school organizes elective courses: religion (1st – 8th grade), German (4th-8th grade), ICT (5th-8th grade). A large number of students is involved in various extracurricular activities and out of school activities where pupils' achievements, creativity and originality are fully expressed, with no less creative mentorship.

Teachers play an important role in pupils' lives, help build their character, teach them academic knowledge and skills they need in life.
