Welcome

"Project co-financed by the European Union under the Erasmus program"

"Mathematica regina omnium scientiarum et - learning path to success"

("Mathematics Queen of Science - Science for the Way to Success")

This project is a partnership between four schools in four different European countries. It is implemented by Primary School no 2 im. 1st Garrison Rifle Regiment (Garwolin, Poland) in cooperation with: Agrupamento de Escolas Santos Simões (Portugal), Scoala Gimnaziala Nr 39 Nicolae Tonitza (Constanta, Romania) and  Osnovna škola Josipa Kozarca (Slatina, Croatia).

It is the outcome of a thorough analysis, not only of the students’ needs and their subsequent results in crucial areas such as Maths, Natural Sciences (Science, Chemistry and Geography), English and IT, but also of the teaching methods and materials. In fact, the project intends to improve the mathematical-natural and linguistic skills of English learners and the teachers' competence in modern teaching methods, that can go against the current tendency for students’ low grades.

The main goal of the project is the increase of key competences in 100 pupils aged 12-15 from the aforementioned partner schools in mathematics and natural sciences at a level that gives them adequate preparation for further learning in these areas. It will take place between 1st October 2017 and 31st July 2020, when the results are to be achieved.

Over the almost three years of its duration, there will be four international design meetings (Poland – October 2017; Romania – August 2018; Croatia – August 2019; Portugal – July 2010) and four short-term exchange of student groups/ short-term training for employees (Croatia – April 2018; Portugal – April 2019; Romania – March 2010; Poland – June 2020).

As part of the Erasmus+ Program, it aims at contributing for personal and professional development of both students and teachers, as well as for an active European citizenship, based on awareness, respect and tolerance for cultural and linguistic diversity. Moreover, it seeks to promote an innovative and quality teaching and the exchange of experiences with different realities. So, the international nature of the project will allow staff and students to collaborate with partner schools on knowledge acquisition, exchange of good practice and learning about other cultures.
