Presentation of the school

 

Located on the Black Sea coast, the city of Constanta enjoys a millennial history - the Tomis Fortress being founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC. Hr.

Gymnasium School Nr. 39 "Nicolae Tonitza" was founded in 1981 under the name of the School with classes I-VIII no. 39. In 1996 became  Nicolae Tonitza School, establishing the first class with integrated teaching of  Art.  The success of the little painters established the name  of the school, Nicolae Tonitza after the name of this famouse Romanian paiter.

The school's logo is the image of one of his remarkable works called The Portrait of a Child .

Saint Nicholas was elected to be the protector of our school  and he is celebrated each year,  on December the 6th, by the Romanian Orthodoxy . In 1999 Nicolae Tonitza School was declared a representative school of the Constanta education. Students are joyfully singing the school anthem.

The mission of our school is to provide equal opportunities for development and valorisation for all children. We, teachers, are the actors who use our skills and our dedication to manners and intelligence, who place our good habits in our students, leaving them a clear vision of mankind, developing their tendency to love and imitate everything is excellent and praiseworthy. Together with family and community, we promote traditions, friendship, tolerance, cooperation, the right to opinion. All school activities are centered on the students  so that the school really becomes a second home for them, a place where they come joyfully, feel safe and happy. The results from contests and school Olympics are one of the best among the top schools in the county. The reputation of our school is due to the great teachers  who share  the wonderful book secrets to the students.

Traditional activities in our school include: going under the flower vault of preparatory class beans on the first day of school, the fall fair, the first 100 days of school, the celebration of school end where students and teachers are celebrating school activity with special artistic preoccupations, with results in competitions and Olympiads, the 8th grade banquet as a manifestation of separation from the teaching staff that contributed to the adolescent gymnasium, the celebration of the pensioners - the tribute to the apostles of the book, the festive partition of didactic and non- leaving school after working life with children; School Day around December 6, Education Day - October 5, National Day of Romania – December  1st, Day of the Union of Romanian Principalities - January 24th, Mother's Day - March 8th, Independence Day and Europe Day - May  9th, Children' Day - June 1st.

Through the quality of education, by the value of our pupils and teachers, we intend to carry on the tradition of a renowned school, a representative school for the city and the county, so that our graduates to become successful people.
